Harold Adams's Termination Hearing has been scheduled for August 22, 2023, when the Massachusetts Parole Board will make a decision on whether to issue a Certificate of Termination of Sentence, which would finally end his Parole and make him a free person in the eyes of the law. When Harold submitted his Petition to the Parole Board, over 1,100 individuals signed a public petition of support. You can sign and comment on that, too, to support this elder of Inside the Sun. The petition also includes some of Harold's story.
Here is a regularly updated toolkit for the campaign for Harold, which includes template letters and more. Right now, we're asking community members to write letters to the Parole Board, to demonstrate undeniably that the termination of Harold's sentence is in the public interest. If you have a bit more time, we also ask that you as urge your elected officials and other community leaders to advocate for the termination of Harold's sentence.

Harold Adams has served over 50 years of a life sentence, 31 years in prison and over 20-years on parole. He read, reflected, studied and began serving our community both inside and outside, in order to make the systemic change a reality, which his experience identified as necessary, i.e. social and economic justice for all. Doing the hard work continues to deepen his experiential understanding that there are two systems of justice - one for the rich and powerful and another for the poor and abandoned. He has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to community well-being, social, and economic justice.
Advocacy for Harold's freedom is advocacy for the many people serving long sentences in Massachusetts, whose legal right to termination of sentence via Massachusetts General Law c. 127 § 130A is undermined by a systematic delay and denial in response to community members' petitions for Certificate of Termination of Sentence.
